PIQSY Picks
Best Robot Vacuums in Australia 2026: Match the Robot to Your Home
A decision-first map of 13 current Australian robot vacuums, matched by floor mix, pet hair, mopping, clearance, thresholds, dock workload, privacy and evidence rather than a generic league table.
There is no useful single “best robot vacuum” for every Australian home. The products in this shortlist solve different combinations of floor type, furniture clearance, thresholds, pet hair, mopping, dock maintenance and privacy.
PIQSY therefore treats this page as a decision map, not a league table.

Start with the constraints that can make a robot fail completely
A robot can have excellent cleaning hardware and still be the wrong purchase if it cannot enter the space or reach the room.
Low furniture
The strongest verified low-profile figures in this set are:
- Roborock Saros 20 — 79.8mm
- ECOVACS T50 OMNI — 81mm
- Dreame X50 Ultra — 89mm with VersaLift retracted
- Xiaomi X20+ — 97mm
- Dreame Aqua10 Ultra Roller — 97.5mm retracted
- ECOVACS X8 Pro OMNI — 98mm
- Roborock Q7T+ — 99mm
The eufy E28 is 111mm and Qrevo Curv 2 Flow is 119mm, so they are poor choices when genuinely low furniture is the hard constraint. Qrevo EdgeC's exact height remains unresolved in PIQSY's canonical record and therefore does not receive a pass or fail against a measured opening.
Measure the actual opening and allow practical margin. Do not buy by product photo.
Thresholds and door tracks
A single vertical rise and a two-stage or multi-stage track are different problems.
- Saros 20: 45mm single step; up to 88mm only in specified double-layer geometry.
- Dreame X50 Ultra: 42mm single step; up to 60mm only in stated multi-stage geometry.
- Dreame Aqua10 Ultra Roller: 42mm single step; up to 80mm only in specified double-layer geometry.
- T90 Pro OMNI / X11 OmniCyclone: 24mm single step with conditional 40mm multi-stage capability.
- T50 OMNI: 20mm single barrier.
Where the exact threshold field is unresolved, PIQSY does not infer a capability from a sibling model.
Then choose for the floors you actually have
Mostly carpet
A premium mop dock can be wasted complexity in a carpet-led home.
Roborock Q7T+ is the simpler self-empty/vacuum-first route. Qrevo EdgeC adds DuoDivide anti-tangle and FlexiArm edge hardware. X8 Pro OMNI has exact-model independent evidence supporting strong vacuum and pet-hair performance.
The choice should turn on carpet workload, hair handling and access—not the biggest Pa figure.
Mostly hard floor
Mopping architecture becomes much more important.
T90 Pro OMNI, X8 Pro OMNI, Qrevo Curv 2 Flow and Aqua10 Ultra Roller all use roller-mop systems, but roller presence alone is not proof of better cleaning.
X8 has exact-model independent testing with both strengths and limitations. Aqua10 also has exact-model hands-on testing supporting strong cleaning and obstacle handling. T90 and Curv should be judged on their verified architecture and physical specifications rather than being given performance claims PIQSY has not independently corroborated.
Genuine mixed floors
Wet-mop separation can become a first-order requirement.
- X20+ — 7mm lift
- T50 OMNI — 9mm lift
- X8 Pro OMNI — 10mm lift
- MOVA E40 Ultra — 10.5mm lift
- Dreame X50 Ultra — 10.5mm lift plus automatic mop removal for long-pile carpet
- Aqua10 Ultra Roller — 14mm lift plus AutoSeal roller guard
- T90 Pro OMNI — 15mm lift
EdgeC and Curv 2 Flow have carpet-aware architecture, but PIQSY's current exact-model records do not resolve an exact lift distance for either.
Pet hair: separate brush architecture from demonstrated pickup
Anti-tangle hardware is useful, but it is not the same as comparative performance evidence.
Q7T+ and EdgeC have verified anti-tangle architectures. X50 Ultra uses HyperStream dual anti-tangle hardware. MOVA E40 Ultra also has an anti-tangle proposition alongside its full-service dock.
X8 Pro OMNI has the strongest exact-model independent pet-hair evidence in the current governed set. That does not turn it into a universal winner if the robot fails another hard constraint.
The eufy E28 solves a different pet-household problem: its detachable portable deep cleaner reaches upholstery, stairs and localised carpet spots that a robot cannot.
Dock automation: decide which chores you want moved
A self-empty station solves one job. A full-service station can add mop washing, drying, water refill and sometimes detergent dosing.
That extra automation is useful when the robot runs frequently on hard floors. It also creates more tanks, trays, water paths and consumables to maintain.
X11 OmniCyclone is structurally different because its self-empty system is bagless. That can reduce dust-bag consumables, but some households may prefer sealed disposable-bag handling.
Do not call any dock maintenance-free.
Privacy: camera presence and security assurance are separate
Q7T+ is the current positively verified camera-free route in this 13-product set.
X20+ and EdgeC remain unresolved on exact camera status in PIQSY's canonical records and therefore receive no camera-free credit.
T50 OMNI is now explicitly verified as having RGB-camera hardware even though Video Manager is unavailable. T90, X8 and X11 have camera hardware with Video Manager. Curv 2 Flow, Saros 20, X50 Ultra and Aqua10 Ultra Roller are also camera-equipped.
Curv's TÜV cybersecurity signal and the Dreame update commitment through 4 March 2029 for X50/Aqua10 are separate security-assurance facts. They do not make those products camera-free.
The 13 roles, without pretending one is universally first
Roborock Q7T+ — simpler self-empty / vacuum-first. Choose it when advanced mop washing is not the problem you need solved.
MOVA E40 Ultra — full-service dock plus quantified carpet lift. Its current exact-model evidence now verifies 10.5mm mop raising, so the old “carpet separation unresolved” caveat no longer applies.
Xiaomi X20+ — full-service dock plus 7mm lift. Strong for hard-floor automation where thicker-carpet separation or high-threshold mobility is not the hard requirement.
ECOVACS T50 OMNI — 81mm full-service specialist. Choose it when low furniture is the gating constraint; remember that the RGB camera is present even though Video Manager is not.
Roborock Qrevo EdgeC — anti-tangle and edge hardware. Choose it when DuoDivide/FlexiArm solve recurring hair and edge-cleaning problems and unresolved height/threshold fields do not matter.
eufy Omni E28 — robot plus portable deep cleaner. Its detachable cleaner gives it a role no other candidate directly duplicates.
ECOVACS T90 Pro OMNI — quantified roller-mop geometry. The 15mm lift, 24mm single step and conditional 40mm multi-stage figure make it easier to assess than a roller robot with unresolved geometry; warranty duration remains unresolved.
ECOVACS X8 Pro OMNI — independently tested roller all-rounder. Exact-model testing supports strong vacuum, pet-hair and navigation performance while also preserving obstacle/dried-stain caveats.
Roborock Qrevo Curv 2 Flow — SpiraFlow plus security-assurance signal. Choose it for that architecture when 119mm height and unresolved exact lift/threshold figures are acceptable.
ECOVACS X11 OmniCyclone — bagless large-home workflow. Its bagless station, 6,400mAh battery and up-to-254-minute manufacturer runtime are the structural reasons to consider it.
Roborock Saros 20 — low profile plus threshold mobility. Its 79.8mm body and 45mm single-step figure make it the strongest geometry-first specialist in this set.
Dreame X50 Ultra — pets, carpet separation and thresholds. The combination of anti-tangle hardware, automatic mop removal, 89mm retracted height and 42mm single-step mobility defines the fit.
Dreame Aqua10 Ultra Roller — premium roller, carpet guard and thresholds. Exact-model testing, a 14mm lift/guard system and 42mm single-step capability make it the mopping-led mixed-floor specialist.
Evidence confidence should change certainty, not the winner by itself
Some models have deep exact-model owner evidence; others are newer and have thinner ownership history. Independent testing is also uneven.
PIQSY uses those differences to describe how confident we are in particular ownership or performance conclusions. It does not award Product Fit simply because one model has more reviews or a higher rating.
A hard physical constraint still wins. A robot with deeper owner evidence cannot clean under a sofa it cannot enter.
Use Match when several constraints apply at once
The page above isolates the main decision gates. If your home combines pets, mixed flooring, low furniture, thresholds and a specific dock/privacy preference, use PIQSY Match to apply those constraints together.
