The Roborock Saros 20 is for homes where ordinary robot vacuums fail because of the building itself. Its 79.8mm body targets genuinely low furniture, while the AdaptiLift chassis has a verified 45mm single-step capability plus an 88mm figure that applies only to specified double-layer geometry.

That combination makes the Saros 20 unusually relevant when low sofas, raised tracks or awkward room transitions are measured problems rather than hypothetical feature-shopping. Its full dock, obstacle sensing and premium cleaning hardware are useful, but they are not the main reason to buy it.

The strongest discipline is also the simplest: do not choose it because 36,000Pa sounds impressive. Choose it if the sub-80mm height and threshold capability solve places where a conventional robot cannot physically go.

Is sub-80mm clearance solving a real problem?

At 79.8mm high, the Saros 20 can fit under furniture that excludes many 90-100mm robots.

That is a measurable advantage only if your home needs it. Measure the actual opening under beds, sofas or cabinetry and leave practical margin for rugs, floor variation and furniture tolerances. If your lowest important opening is comfortably above 100mm, the Saros 20's low-profile design is less valuable.

The 45mm single-step figure is the important threshold number

Roborock states 45mm single-step crossing for the exact model. That is the figure to use when you are considering one isolated raised transition.

Height is not the whole story—edge shape, surface grip and approach still matter—but 45mm is unusually useful evidence compared with products that publish no exact threshold figure at all. If your home has a known 30-40mm step that stops other robots, this capability can change the purchase.

The 88mm number has a strict two-layer condition

Roborock also publishes an 88mm compound figure for specified double-layer geometry, roughly 45mm plus 43mm.

That is not the same as climbing one 88mm vertical step. The staged geometry is part of the claim and should always travel with the number. If your obstacle is a single vertical edge, use the 45mm figure instead.

The Saros 20 uses StarSight rather than a conventional protruding lidar-turret configuration, which is part of how it maintains the 79.8mm profile.

The exact model also has obstacle avoidance and camera hardware. Low profile therefore does not mean camera-free. If indoor camera hardware is unacceptable, the Saros 20 is the wrong architecture even if its clearance and threshold capability are impressive.

Full dock automation is present, but not unique

The runtime gives useful large-home context, though actual duration varies by mode and surface. The suction number does not establish a standardised cross-brand cleaning rank. Neither should outweigh whether the robot can physically reach and cross the areas you need cleaned.

The exact Australian record supports a 24-month warranty.

That is useful support context for a premium product, but it should not become the reason to choose a specialist chassis. First establish that the 79.8mm height or threshold hardware solves a real problem. Then use warranty and ownership feedback to refine confidence.

The version checked owner-feedback history is still relatively young. Treat that as limited maturity rather than a negative reliability finding, especially when the physical specifications are the main reason the product is on the shortlist.
