Why the choice changes.
The decision
Choose the ECOVACS T50 OMNI when low furniture is a hard constraint, because its 81mm body gives you a number you can measure against the home. It also has a verified 9mm mop lift, 20mm single-barrier crossing and a full self-empty/wash/dry/refill dock.
Choose the Roborock Qrevo EdgeC when clearance and threshold height are not hard constraints and you care more about its DuoDivide anti-tangle roller, FlexiArm edge hardware and balanced full-service architecture. EdgeC's exact height and threshold capability remain unresolved, so PIQSY will not import those figures from the older Qrevo Edge.
What changes the choice
Does the robot physically fit?
This is the cleanest difference between the two.
T50 OMNI is verified at 81mm high. If the opening under the sofa, bed or cabinet is below the practical clearance needed by a taller robot, that can decide the purchase before mopping, suction or dock features matter.
EdgeC's current canonical record does not resolve an exact robot-height figure. That is not evidence that EdgeC is tall; it is evidence that PIQSY cannot safely pass it against a measured clearance requirement.
If low furniture is the problem, measure it. T50 can be checked. EdgeC remains unconfirmed.
Carpet separation is better quantified on T50
T50 has carpet detection and a manufacturer-stated 9mm mop lift. That gives mixed-floor buyers a concrete separation figure to compare with their actual carpet pile.
EdgeC supports dual spinning mops and carpet-aware operation, but its exact mop-lift distance is not resolved in the current canonical record.
Neither fact proves one robot will keep every carpet dry. The decision point is narrower: T50 gives you a verified lift number; EdgeC does not currently give PIQSY one.
EdgeC has the clearer anti-tangle and edge-cleaning hardware story
EdgeC's DuoDivide main-brush architecture and FlexiArm edge hardware are verified exact-model features. Those can matter in homes with long hair, pets or recurring edge debris.
T50's reason to win is different: low profile plus a full-service dock. PIQSY does not convert EdgeC's hardware into a universal pet-hair-performance claim, and it does not convert T50's lower body into a general cleaning advantage.
Both docks automate the same broad ownership jobs
Both canonical records include:
- self-emptying;
- automatic mop washing;
- mop drying;
- automatic water refill.
So "full-service dock" does not separate them by itself.
The useful question is what other constraint sits around that dock. T50 pairs it with verified low clearance and quantified mop lift. EdgeC pairs it with anti-tangle and edge-cleaning hardware.
Threshold evidence is asymmetric
T50 has a verified 20mm single-barrier figure.
EdgeC's exact single-step and multi-stage threshold fields remain unresolved. PIQSY therefore does not award EdgeC a high-threshold advantage from the older Qrevo Edge or from family-level marketing.
If your door track or room transition is a hard constraint, T50 at least provides a verified conventional figure. For materially higher thresholds, neither should be chosen without stronger exact-model evidence; Saros 20 or Dreame X50 Ultra becomes the more relevant comparison.
Camera and privacy: T50 is not camera-free
T50's exact Australian record identifies an RGB camera used alongside structured-light obstacle sensing. The same record lists Video Manager as unavailable.
Those are separate facts. "No Video Manager" does not mean "no camera".
EdgeC's current canonical camera field remains unresolved, so PIQSY does not award it camera-free credit either.
Owner evidence changes confidence, not Product Fit
The current base Owner Evidence is much deeper for EdgeC: 52 exact-model signals at MEDIUM confidence versus 8 T50 signals at INSUFFICIENT confidence.
That makes EdgeC easier to discuss from an ownership-history perspective. It does not mean EdgeC automatically becomes the better product. If an 81mm body is the hard requirement, deeper owner evidence cannot make an unverified-height robot physically fit.
Do not choose from the Pa numbers
T50 is listed at 15,000Pa and EdgeC at 18,500Pa. These are manufacturer specifications under brand-specific test conditions, not a standardised head-to-head floor-cleaning score.
PIQSY records them but gives neither product a winner label because one Pa number is larger.
PIQSY conclusion
Choose T50 OMNI if:
- you have genuinely low furniture and 81mm solves the access problem;
- a verified 9mm mop lift is useful for your mixed floors;
- 20mm single-barrier capability is enough;
- an RGB camera is acceptable even without Video Manager.
Choose Qrevo EdgeC if:
- low clearance and high thresholds are not hard constraints;
- anti-tangle and edge-cleaning hardware matter repeatedly;
- you want a full-service dock with a deeper current exact-model owner-evidence base;
- you can accept that exact height, threshold and camera status are not fully resolved in PIQSY's current record.
Choose neither when a taller threshold or explicitly camera-free architecture is the hard requirement.
