What should you decide first?

Is an included pen part of the value?

Galaxy Tab S10 FE and Galaxy Tab S11 include an S Pen in their exact references. Lenovo Idea Tab 11 and Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 include their Lenovo pens in the exact Australian packages used here.

Xiaomi Focus Pen and OnePlus Stylo 2 are separate purchases.

That difference matters when handwritten notes, annotation or drawing are part of the normal workflow. If you rarely use a stylus, an included pen should not outweigh screen size, performance or ecosystem.

How large a tablet do you want to carry?

Xiaomi Pad 7 stays at 11.2 inches and 500g. Galaxy Tab S11 is an 11-inch, 469g flagship. Idea Tab 11 is also in the mainstream 11-inch class.

Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 moves to 13 inches and around 598g. OnePlus Pad 3 reaches 13.2 inches and 675g.

The larger models repay the weight with more room for split-screen work, documents and media. They make less sense if the tablet is held frequently or carried everywhere.

Do you need expandable storage?

Galaxy Tab S10 FE, Galaxy Tab S11, Idea Tab 11 and Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 provide microSD flexibility.

Xiaomi Pad 7 and OnePlus Pad 3 use fixed internal storage in the exact references here.

If removable storage is a hard requirement, settle it early. If it is not, internal performance, display and form factor may matter more.

How much performance headroom is useful?

Idea Tab 11 has the lowest performance ceiling in this group with 4GB RAM. That is acceptable for reading, notes and mainstream study, but it is not the best route for heavier multitasking.

Do not buy the highest ceiling by default. Buy enough headroom for the workload you expect to keep for several years.

Which type fits you?

Galaxy Tab S10 FE: balanced included-pen Samsung

Choose S10 FE when you want an S Pen in the box, expandable storage and a stronger all-round Samsung tablet without stepping into flagship pricing and hardware.

Its main ceiling is USB 2.0 and a TFT rather than AMOLED display.

Galaxy Tab S11: premium 11-inch Samsung

Choose S11 when display quality, Samsung DeX and stronger wired capability are real requirements.

The exact 12GB/256GB Wi-Fi reference uses an 11-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X 120Hz display, included S Pen, microSD, USB 3.2 Gen 1 and DeX.

It is the portable flagship route rather than simply "the better Samsung".

Lenovo Idea Tab 11: paper-like study value

Choose Idea Tab 11 when reduced glare, reading comfort and a pen in the exact package matter more than high-end performance.

The version we checked combines an 11-inch paper-like 2.5K 90Hz display, 4GB RAM, 128GB storage, microSD and Lenovo Tab Pen.

The 4GB RAM ceiling is the trade-off that should remain visible.

Lenovo Idea Tab Pro Gen 2: large matte productivity

Choose Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 when a 13-inch screen materially improves study, annotation or split-screen work.

The exact package adds a 3.5K 144Hz matte display, Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, 12GB RAM, 256GB storage, microSD, Pen Plus and USB 5Gbps with DisplayPort-out.

It is a stronger desk-and-bag tablet than a one-handed tablet.

Xiaomi Pad 7: portable performance

Choose Xiaomi when you want stronger general-purpose Android performance without moving into a 13-inch chassis.

Its 11.2-inch 3.2K display up to 144Hz, Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3, 8GB/256GB configuration and 500g weight create a balanced performance route.

Focus Pen and keyboard are separate, and microSD is not part of the exact product proposition.

OnePlus Pad 3: maximum Android headroom

Choose OnePlus when the large screen and flagship-class hardware are the reason to buy.

PIQSY's reference uses a 13.2-inch high-refresh display, Snapdragon 8 Elite, 16GB RAM and 512GB storage.

The stylus and keyboard are separate, storage is fixed and the 675g weight should be treated as part of the decision.

What changes the decision?

Do you need Samsung DeX or explicit DisplayPort?

Galaxy Tab S11 has the strongest Samsung desk workflow with DeX and USB 3.2. Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 explicitly supports DisplayPort-out. Xiaomi and OnePlus also provide faster USB than USB 2.0 study tablets.

If external displays or repeated file transfers matter, port capability belongs in the decision. If you only charge the tablet, it should carry much less weight.

Is premium display technology worth paying for?

Galaxy Tab S11 is the AMOLED route in this group. Lenovo's study tablets emphasise matte/paper-like treatment. Xiaomi and OnePlus emphasise high-refresh performance LCDs.

The "best display" depends on whether you care about contrast, glare reduction, colour, screen size or portability.

Is cellular required?

The exact references in this guide are Wi-Fi products. Some families offer cellular variants, but a Wi-Fi product and price do not satisfy a hard mobile-data requirement.

Compare the exact cellular configuration if that capability is mandatory.

What matters less than you might think

Brand hierarchy is easy to over-weight. A lower-tier Samsung can be the better fit than a flagship when the job is notes and storage flexibility.

Processor names also need context. Snapdragon 8 Elite provides more headroom than a midrange chip, but unused headroom is not value by itself.

And a 13-inch screen is not automatically more productive if its size makes you leave the tablet at home.
