The OnePlus Pad 3 is a large performance-first Android tablet. PIQSY's Storm Blue reference combines 16GB LPDDR5X, 512GB UFS 4.0, Snapdragon 8 Elite and a 13.2-inch 3392×2400 adaptive 144Hz display. That is substantial hardware for buyers who expect heavy multitasking, performance-oriented apps, gaming or a large media/productivity canvas.

It is best suited to buyers who genuinely want a 13-inch-class Android workspace and will use the performance, memory, storage or media headroom rather than simply wanting the biggest specification sheet.

What changes the decision

Snapdragon 8 Elite and 16GB RAM define the performance tier

The version we checked uses Snapdragon 8 Elite, with CPU frequency up to 4.32GHz, alongside 16GB LPDDR5X memory and 512GB UFS 4.0 storage.

This is useful when heavy multitasking, demanding Android applications, gaming or long-term performance headroom are part of the purchase reason. It is wasted capability if the workload is primarily reading, email and casual streaming.

The right question is therefore not whether this is faster than a midrange tablet. It is whether the workload makes that difference useful.

The 13.2-inch 7:5 display is built around workspace

OnePlus specifies a 13.2-inch 3392×2400 LTPS LCD in a 7:5 aspect ratio, with adaptive refresh up to 144Hz, 315ppi and up to 900 nits in High Brightness Mode.

The large, relatively square canvas suits documents, split-screen work, browsing and media when screen area is a priority. The cost is handling: at 675g, this is less comfortable for prolonged one-handed use than a 500g-class 11-inch tablet.

The panel is LCD rather than OLED. Buyers whose requirement is OLED contrast should compare against an OLED tablet instead of treating higher resolution or refresh rate as an equivalent substitute.

512GB storage is generous, but it is fixed and Wi-Fi only

PIQSY's version reviewed here has 512GB UFS 4.0 storage. OnePlus Australia's current specification does not list a microSD slot, and PIQSY does not govern a cellular Pad 3 configuration.

For many buyers, 512GB removes immediate storage pressure. It still remains fixed internal capacity, and native mobile data is absent from the version we checked.

A separate verified 12GB/256GB sibling exists for controlled comparison work; it does not replace or blur the 16GB/512GB reference.

Keyboard and Stylo 2 are ecosystem options, not bundle contents

The OnePlus Pad 3 supports OnePlus Smart Keyboard and OnePlus Stylo 2, but neither appears in the box contents. The exact authorised-store owner observation also describes purchasing those accessories separately.

That makes this a strong core tablet on its own, not a complete laptop-style or pen package. Total configured cost matters for buyers who know they need both accessories.

USB 3.2 and Wi-Fi 7 support a higher-end connectivity role

The tablet uses USB 3.2 Gen 1 up to 5Gbps, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.

Battery and eight-speaker audio reinforce the large media role

OnePlus specifies a 12,140mAh typical battery and supports up to 80W wired charging. The capacity is substantial, but it also has to drive a large high-resolution high-refresh panel and flagship processor, so PIQSY does not convert battery size into a guaranteed runtime win.

The audio system uses eight speakers — four woofers and four tweeters. Combined with the 13.2-inch display, that gives the Pad 3 a clear media and desk-entertainment role.

The free exact Australian evidence pool is extremely thin: the current OnePlus Authorised Store Australia page exposes one verified owner observation for the 16GB/512GB configuration, with the reviewer separately purchasing keyboard and stylus. Who should choose something else

The Pad 3 should lose when portability, included accessories or a different ecosystem matters more than maximum Android headroom.

• Switch to the Xiaomi Pad 7 when 500g-class portability and an 11.2-inch high-refresh form matter more than OnePlus's larger canvas and higher performance ceiling.
• Choose the Galaxy Tab S11 when AMOLED, an included S Pen, microSD or Samsung DeX are hard requirements.
• Move to the Lenovo Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 when a matte 13-inch workspace, included Pen Plus and expandable storage matter more than raw OnePlus performance.

If Windows desktop software or iPadOS-specific applications are non-negotiable, resolve the platform requirement before comparing Android specifications.
