The 8.8-inch display runs at 2560×1600 with refresh up to 165Hz, while the tablet weighs about 350g. That combination is the core proposition.

For handheld gaming, travel or couch use, the smaller chassis can be a real advantage over a 13-inch performance tablet. The trade-off is equally real: split-screen work, large PDFs and keyboard-led productivity have less physical room.

Do not interpret compact size as universally better. It is better only when portability and handheld use matter more than workspace.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 gives it serious Android performance headroom

The version we checked uses Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, 12GB LPDDR5X memory and 256GB UFS 4.0 storage. Lenovo also builds the product around gaming-specific hardware including Legion Coldfront cooling, dual X-axis vibration motors and bypass charging support.

Those features make the Legion more purpose-built for gaming than a general-purpose Android tablet with a fast processor alone.

That still does not mean every buyer needs this performance tier. For browsing, streaming and light study, a cheaper mainstream tablet may be the better decision.

Dual USB-C is unusually useful on a compact tablet

The Legion has two USB-C ports. One is USB 2.0; the other supports USB 10Gbps / USB 3.2 Gen 2 with charging, OTG, audio and DisplayPort-out.

That gives the compact chassis a stronger wired workflow than tablets limited to a single USB 2.0 port. It matters for external displays, storage and gaming accessories.

The faster port does not turn Android into a Windows desktop environment. Buyers who require desktop Windows applications should solve the operating-system requirement first.

Fixed storage and Wi-Fi-only connectivity create two hard boundaries

The version reviewed here includes 256GB UFS 4.0 storage and PB Tech lists no card reader, while ZAEF0054AU is also Non-WWAN with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.

That means buyers with a hard microSD or integrated-cellular requirement should fail this product early rather than trying to compensate with processor performance.

A hotspot can be practical for some people and 256GB may be enough for many game libraries, but PIQSY keeps those as user choices rather than pretending the missing capabilities are present.

Pen support is not pen inclusion

The Lenovo Tab Pen Plus is supported, but it is sold separately on this version we checked.

That distinction matters because a capable stylus workflow and an included stylus are different buying propositions. If pen-in-box value is important, Galaxy Tab S11 or an exact Lenovo package with a bundled pen may fit better.

Battery, charging and bundle details support the gaming role

The exact AU listing specifies a 6550mAh typical battery and up to 45W charging. Gaming at high refresh, high brightness and sustained performance can draw substantially more power than light browsing, so PIQSY does not convert capacity into a fixed gaming-runtime claim.

• Switch to the REDMAGIC Astra 2 when OLED up to 185Hz, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and REDMAGIC's dedicated cooling architecture matter enough to accept its less-resolved Australian support path.
• Choose the Xiaomi Pad 7 when you want a larger 11.2-inch high-refresh tablet for broader everyday use rather than an 8.8-inch gaming-first form.
• Choose the Galaxy Tab S11 when AMOLED 120Hz, included S Pen, microSD or Samsung DeX are requirements the Legion does not satisfy.

If a large workspace or bundled productivity accessories dominate the purchase, gaming-specific cooling is solving the wrong problem.
