It automates around a portafilter rather than replacing one

Oracle Jet's defining architecture is the 58 mm portafilter. The machine automatically grinds, doses and tamps into it, but you still remove the portafilter, lock it into the group head, run the extraction and dispose of the puck.

That gives you more visible espresso involvement than a Magnifica or Eletta internal brew group while removing much of the repetitive setup of a Dual Boiler or traditional grinder-plus-machine arrangement.

The 58 mm, 22 g and 45-setting specifications describe flexibility, not guaranteed quality

Breville specifies a 58 mm stainless-steel portafilter, a 22 g stated dose and Baratza precision burrs with 45 grind settings.

Those facts explain the platform and available adjustment. PIQSY does not infer that portafilter diameter, dose size or grind-setting count automatically produces better coffee than another architecture.

The practical question is whether you want that level of adjustment while allowing the machine to handle the most repetitive preparation steps.

Auto MilQ removes one of the major manual skills

Auto MilQ provides hands-free milk texturing with adjustable temperature and texture. That is a meaningful difference from Dual Boiler and Barista Express Impress, where milk remains manual.

If you enjoy steaming milk yourself, the automation may add little. If milk consistency is a recurring source of frustration, it materially reduces technique burden while preserving the portafilter experience.
