What changes the choice
Architecture overlaps, evidence does not
X8 uses ECOVACS' OZMO roller system. Curv 2 Flow uses Roborock's SpiraFlow roller.
Both therefore solve the same broad hard-floor workflow with continuously refreshed roller cleaning. But PIQSY's evidence is asymmetric.
The X8 canonical record includes exact-model independent testing. Curv's current canonical record verifies the hardware and manufacturer claims but does not contain equivalent exact-model independent cleaning-performance evidence.

Camera privacy versus security assurance
Both robots contain camera hardware.
X8 has camera-based obstacle avoidance and Video Manager. Curv 2 Flow has an RGB camera plus structured-light sensing and a separate documented TÜV cybersecurity signal.
For a camera-avoidance shopper, neither wins. For a camera-accepting shopper who values a documented security-control signal, Curv's TÜV evidence may matter.
Those are separate decisions.
Pet hair favours evidence over labels
X8's exact-model independent testing supports strong pet-hair handling. That gives it a stronger evidence basis for pet households than simply reading "anti-tangle" or a suction number from a specification sheet.
