The Dyson Purifier Hot+Cool HP2 De-NOx only makes sense as a heater recommendation when you genuinely need three jobs in one appliance: heating, year-round fan airflow and advanced air purification.
If the task is simply “warm this room”, the HP2's extra filtration, sensors, app and consumables are unnecessary complexity. Its value proposition is architectural rather than wattage-led: sealed HEPA H13 filtration, gas/NO₂ treatment, formaldehyde destruction, connected monitoring and 350-degree oscillation live in the same product as fan heating.
Best for
Choose it when air-quality monitoring/purification is a real household requirement and you also want one appliance to provide winter heat and non-refrigerated summer airflow.

What changes the decision
Purification has to be a requirement, not a bonus
Dyson specifies a fully sealed three-stage HEPA H13 system capturing 99.95% of ultra-fine particles at the stated test size, alongside odour/gas treatment, increased NO₂ capture and continuous formaldehyde destruction.
Those capabilities are the strongest reason to consider HP2 over a conventional heater. If you already own a suitable purifier or do not need one, much of the product's differentiated hardware is redundant.
“Hot+Cool” does not mean refrigerated cooling
The product heats in winter and moves air in summer through fan airflow.
It does not use a refrigeration cycle and is not a portable air conditioner. PIQSY therefore does not describe it as lowering room temperature the way an air conditioner can.
Noise depends on airflow demand
Dyson's exact Australian specification lists a 63dB maximum sound level, 10 airflow settings and Night mode.
That gives useful context for a noise-sensitive buyer: high-airflow operation should not be assumed quiet just because Night mode exists. A fan-free panel or oil column is structurally different if avoiding fan noise is the hard requirement.
The purification coverage number is not the heating-room number
Dyson lists 81m³ purification room coverage according to POLAR in the current AU specification, while the canonical record separately stores a 35m³ heating test room.

Connected support is unusually explicit
HP2 supports the MyDyson app and compatible voice services, and Dyson states a defined support period of at least 31 December 2031 for the connected product.
That is valuable evidence for a smart appliance because it places a date on software support. It is not a promise that every cloud feature or third-party voice integration will remain unchanged until then.
Safety controls are documented, but filters remain an ownership commitment
The governed exact-model record includes tip-over and overheat cut-outs and a two-year warranty.
The purification system also relies on replaceable filter media. The buyer should treat filter maintenance as part of the long-term ownership model rather than assuming the appliance is maintenance-free after purchase.
